Personnel

Our P.I. Tool staff includes individuals with the experience and training necessary to tackle the diverse challenges of our customer’s needs. This includes:

  • machinists with lathe and milling experience
  • CNC machinists
  • CNC programmers
  • fitters
  • a CWB certified welder
  • and personnel with millwright skills.

One staff member is a professional engineer, who oversees operations and handles in-house design requirements.

Equipment

The machines include:

  • five manual lathes and two flatbed CNC lathes
  • one CNC horizontal boring mill and one manual horizontal boring mill
  • three CNC vertical machining centers
  • two manual mills
  • a number of drill presses
  • a large capacity slotting machine to cut internal keyways

  • eleven cranes – the maximum lifting capacity of one crane is 10 tons

Systems and Certification

The operations of P. I. Tool are supported by a number of computer systems and procedures.

We use AUTODESK products (Inventor and Autocad Mechanical) for design related work.

MASTERCAM is used for CNC programming.

The business, cost control and scheduling functions are handled using the E2 Shoptech program. We were the first in Canada to implement this program. All software is kept current with maintenance contracts.

We have CWB certification for our welding procedures and an in-house quality control program. ISO 9001-2015 registration is currently in progress.
